Jacko To Appear But Not Perform

Michael Jackson is scheduled to appear at a Tokyo Christmas event next month. Though Jackson is not expected to perform, the tickets will cost a pretty mint of $3,400.

The "Premium Christmas Party" will include dancers, bands and gospel singers for 1,600 fans, while Jackson views the show from a special VIP area, as reported by an internet advertisement. He is expected to briefly speak at the Christmas party.

Though organizers were not available for comment, we learned that for 400,000 yen ($3,428), 200 "platinum" ticket holders are qualified to participate in a "meet and greet" event with Jackson. Anyone who can afford 200,000 yen will get free food and drinks and a signed photo.

Last week, Jackson, expected to sing thriller, sang “We are the World”, which British newspapers reported as being a flop.

Incubus’ Light Grenades

This week’s new release review is Incubus’ Light Grenades. Guitarist Mike Einziger described the new album as "a total mess . . . It sounds like 13 different bands playing 13 different songs."

The quintet hasn't abandoned its spiraling, madcap jam-busters, like frenetic first single "Anna Molly," the punchy "Rogues" and the overdriven "A Kiss to Send Us Off," a vague flashback to previous hit "Megalomaniac."

FMP3 Watch is MP3 Player with FM Transmitter

Throw your watch, MP3 player and voice recorder in the trash and wrap the FMP3 Watch around your wrist.  At first glance this device seems to be a handsome wrist watch.   But get close up and personal and you'll soon find that it's not only a watch but a MP3 player with many other features.

An FM transmitter capable of transmitting your MP3 to an FM radio, such as the one in your car, on radio frequencies between 88.1MHz, 88.5MHz, and 88.9MHz with an approximate range of 6m-10m; a voice recorder with a cleverly hidden microphone so you can ambiguously record voice or sound;  and it comes with Line-in recording capabilities; a comfortable 9 hours of incessant playback (3 hours with transmitter); and 512MB and 1GB memory waiting to hold and play your USB-transported MP3's.

Are you still reading this?? What are you waiting for?  Go get it!

Trekstor's Sleek Vibez MP3 Player

Trekstor GmbH’s first MP3 player that uses a hard disc to store data has come to America.  And can you believe that it’s a tiny 1 inch hard disc?  The Trekstor Vibez MP3 player’s sleek design comes in three different disk capacities of 8, 12 (both available this December) and 15GB (available in January 2007), and the 4 x 2 x 0.7 inch sized device fits in the palm of your hand.

This MP3 player has a 1.5 inch color TFT screen, plays MP3, WMA,WAV, OGG and FLAC files, along with WMA DRM for up to 20 hours detached from a rechargeable battery.

This nifty MP3 player offers clear, high quality sound that is outstanding.  We would be negligent if we didn’t mention the two sets of headphones, one with independent volume control, an optional docking station with battery charger and infrared remote control.  Stay tuned for their optional FM tuner card, which provide listening enjoyment through your player.  Whew… I think we’re done.  Keep your eyes peeled for the cost of this beauty.

Samsung's K5 MP3 Player

Samsung’s K5 MP3 stands out from the rest with its atypical features.  Unlike many MP3 players, the K5 comes with a built-in FM tuner, a clock feature and alarm that can be programmed to go off to your favorite song or the radio, and an off timer feature.

This loaded 4 inch, 128 x 160 color screen MP3 player also packs high-end earphones with enhanced bass sounds, and two built-in, slide out, high quality sound speakers with virtual surround sound technology. With either 1GB or 4GB, this device can play up to 30 hours of music and 6 hours with surround sound speakers, and can stand up to any home stereo system by switching to 5 different modes.

The 4GB K5 can store up to 25,000 jpg images or up to 1000, which can be downloaded from the PlaysForSure online store.  With these rich features and sound, who cares the K5 size is on the bulky side? If $200 - $250 is in your price range, it’s a keeper.

Spears and Federline Split

Kevin Federline will be living a deprived life after his divorce from Britney Spears.  Living off of a mere $30,000 a month he is likely to receive after the divorce settlement smoke clears won’t be easy for this ambitious divorcee.

The icon of all slackers lives in his parent’s basement and sleeps until high noon will now be forced to find a job.  Our empathy, Kevin. Our deepest empathy.

Faith Hill Freaks At CMAs

Faith Hill, the country music superstar, was obviously angry when she lost to new-on-the-scene Carrie Underwood for the female vocalist of the year award on Monday night at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville.

While nominees like Martina McBride, Sara Evans, and Gretchen Wilson stuck with the losing graciously protocol after Underwood’s name was announced at the ceremony, Hill abruptly turned to the cameras and shouted a flabbergasted “WHAT?”

Hill quickly denied the accusations saying, "The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me," Hill said in a statement. "For this to become a focus of attention given the talent gathered is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving Female Vocalist of The Year."

The Great Burrito Extortion Case

This week's new release is Bowling for Soup's "The Great Burrito Extortion Case". This newest release from the band is very similar to their previous work. So if you liked "1985", "Almost" and "Ohio" you're sure to like this album and their newest single, "High School Never Ends".

While the single is very entertaining and funny, I think the most musically intriguing song on the album is "Much More Beautiful Person". Bowling for Soup has done an excellent job of utilizing simple harmonies to capture their listener's attention to drive their lyrics home. Overall I would recommend everyone at least listen to the album is not buy it.

An MP3 Player Boombox For Your Bike

There are all kinds of arms bands and accessories for listening to your MP3 player while you rub, but what about for riding your bike? Well since riding with headphones could be dangerous Hammacher Schlemmer has developed an MP3 boombox for your bike.

It snaps on to any 1" frame and plays back 1GB worth of music, with the ability to add more via an SD card slot. The casing is weather resistance and charging is handled through USB.

Technically, the MP3 player can be completely removed from its docking station to be used without the bike, but that sort of ruins the point of not just purchasing a better MP3 player for less money.

Shakira Dominates Latin Grammy Awards

Well it didn't surprise many, but Shakira dominated this year's Latin Grammy Awards. Shakira won a total of four including album of the year for "Fijacion Oral Vol. 1" and song and record of the year honors for "La Tortura."

In addition to being on stage to accept all four Grammys Shakira also stole the spotlight during her performance of "La Tortura" (why she didn't do "Hips Don't Lie" is beyond me).

Cingular to Launch Music Service

Rather than launch an independent music service Cingular has teamed up with experienced music providers Napster, Yahoo and eMusic. Rumor has it that the move by Cingular, jointly owned by AT&T and BellSouth, might set the stage for a battle with Apple Computer's Ipod. The service would work on cellphones that double as music players.

Users will be able to transfer music acquired from subscription services like Napster to Go, Yahoo's Y Music Unlimited or eMusic, which is owned by Dimensional Associates Inc., the Journal reported.

Thinkin' of Swimmin'

This week's YouTube video of the week is "Thinkin' Of Swimmin" by Alex "Stoloff" with animation by Noriko Oura. I really like this video because it is the first of the YouTube videos that is animated. So far this artist hasn't done much and is still trying to get her music heard and out there, so here I am getting it out there for everyone to hear.

To be honest I've been looking on YouTube a lot lately and have not seen a good video for awhile, so if you are an up and coming artist with a video and want to get it out there please contact me.

Go ahead and check out this cool video for yourself below right now!

Rolling Stones Face Lawsuit for Sore Throat

Lawsuits are nothing new when it comes to rock stars, but this lawsuit rivals the lady that sued McDonalds for not telling her the coffee was hot. The Rolling Stones are being sued for $51 million by Rosalie Druyan, a New York City woman. The women believes that they owe her since they cancelled their concert in Atlantic City with just a few hours notice, and left "her with nothing to do except play a few hands of blackjack and place a few wagers as to whether or not the blue-haired ladies at the slots were older than Charlie Watts."

Druyan wasn't satisfied with the Stones' camp's offer of a refund or a ticket to a makeup date slated for later this month, the deal extended to anyone holding ducats for the Oct. 27 show that was axed after Jagger came down with a sore throat.
